We offer different styles of sidesaddles for various breeds  and types of riding.     Here are some of our English sidesaddles.  

FITTINGS:   All Steele side saddles include balance strap, stirrup and stirrup leather.   Girths are available at additional cost.

Elan saddles come with all leather fittings (balance strap and stirrup leather), stirrups and girths may be purchased at extra cost.

 The Elan English is our most popular seller.  It comes complete with fittings, excluding girth. Available in brown or black.   Seat sizes 20" - 23" 

Elan sidesaddles are manufactured  under our US Patent in Pakistan.    No other Asian sidesaddle has a US Patent.    We strive for quality control and correct styling.   The Elan is also reinforced for jumping.

 Here's Brows Josephine, an English Shire mare owned by Michelle Cheever.   Josie is the largest horse we've ever fitted for a sidesaddle, but this saddle is level and she looks happy.    She's wearing one of our XXW Elans.

• English Sidesaddles come in two basic designs, the hunt style saddle like the Elan, which is best suited for horses with moderate to high withers , and the hybrid American English sidesaddle, which is built on a spanish-based tree with bars.
• .    Hunt Style sidesaddles can be used for jumping, since the padded design absorbs shock,
•  If your "English" sidesaddle doesn't resemble one of these designs, it's likely an antique saddle that someone has dubbed as English, or a modern one of inferior design. 

 Those who wish additional security for use on the flat may want to look at the Steele Sidesaddles, which are based on a tree with bars and a deep seat like a western stock saddle.    Steeles are very close contact saddles that are best suited for horses with low to moderate withers.

Need an English saddle and a western saddle?     We can do it!   We pioneered the Steele Convertible in the 90s.    Skirts snap off for changeover, and both an English and western stirrup are provided.     The basic rigging is English, with a western converter billet added (or we can do the reverse if you prefer)

The Steele English Pleasure is used widely on Arabians and National Show Horses, but it also fits a large variety of other breeds.    $1995 plus shipping..   Brown or Black

The Equitation has the traditional flat hunt style seat and elegant lines.   It features moveable horns and an extremely close contact ride.   Complete with fittings, excluding girth.

 All Steele sidesaddles are made entirely in the USA, of US and Canadian leather.    They are assembled in Kentucky, and the trees come from Tennessee. 

ABOUT STEELE SIDESADDLES:

In 1982 Wayne Steele's father Jack contacted Marti about building a modern sidesaddle.     Jack produced a single tree (which we still have on display in our shop) but it didn't fit our needs.    

About that time, Wayne came home to TN, and he promptly took up the family tree making business.     He started work on his own design for a sidesaddle, which he introduced at a SouthEast Aside clinic in Raleigh, NC in August 1983.       The design immediately took off, and became famous in the sidesaddle community.   Hundred Oaks was made the distributor.

While independent saddlers' have, over the years built other saddles on the Steele tree,  only saddles made under the Hundred Oaks label are true to Wayne's original design.     We maintain the quality of leather and hardware rigorously, and the saddles are built by one of the original Steele saddlemakers.

At present 3 tree sizes are offered:   The standard wide bar original tree, a narrower tree for more refined horses, and a draft tree.
